Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is magic probably for those strange modernist architectures made by Antonì Gaudì.
Like every Spanish city, she has a roman history, visigots and arabics. These cultures are all mixed with the gothic period during the XII c. AD, which the former expression is the "Barrio El Gotic" with a huge Gothic Cathedral and other churches like the Santa Maria del Mar one. The bohemienne aspects of the Ramblas and the Raval are mixed with the nineteenth century organization like Placa Catalunya, the Avinguida Diagonal or l'Eixample. It was Gaudì that during the XIX and XX century with the modernism corrent gave to Barcelona this magical and mystical feature and resumes all the characteristic said above. The most beautiful expression are the Sagrada Familia, the Park Guell, House Battlò, Casa Vicens and the Pedrera. |
